Building on the initial overview of the five key habits of trend curators, this workshop will give participants the chance to practice those skills in a highly interactive session. The format of this session will include giving each participant an unfamiliar magazine that is outside their usual media diet (example magazines used in the past include Modern Farmer, Teen Vogue, etc).
They will each then receive a refresher on the five trends that were covered in the keynote and be encouraged to seek out examples of those trends (like a media-based scavenger hunt). The interactivity of this event and collaborative nature make it fun to overlap networking and it particularly works well before or after lunch as it's a higher energy activity to help people re-energize for the rest of the day.
The aim of this activity is to generate some conversation within round table groups and then share back new and interesting ideas. The underlying learning objective is to offer a very real and tangible example to business professionals that new and interesting ideas can come from very unlikely sources and if we are going to think in more innovative ways, we can't continue to consume the same media as everyone else.
